The Opportunity:
AiLO is seeking a Vice President of Brokerage Operations to lead the strategy, execution, and scalable growth of its asset-light brokerage platform.

This executive will own Carrier Sales and Operations, including carrier strategy, capacity procurement, network performance, service execution, financial discipline, and leadership development.

The mandate is to build the carrier network, operating model, performance systems, and leadership structure required to scale the business while leveraging AiLO’s asset-based network as a strategic advantage.

What You'll Own:
Carrier Sales & Network Strategy:
  • Set and execute AiLO’s brokerage carrier strategy across carrier sales, sourcing, procurement, capacity planning, and strategic carrier relationships.
  • Build a reliable, scalable carrier network across priority markets, customers, and freight lanes.
  • Optimize the balance of spot capacity, committed capacity, strategic partnerships, and AiLO’s asset-based fleet to improve service, margin, and network reliability.

Operations & Service Excellence:
  • Lead brokerage operations from tender through delivery, with accountability for coverage, visibility, exception management, and on-time performance.
  • Design scalable operating processes, service governance, and escalation practices that support profitable growth and protect the customer experience.
  • Partner with Sales and Account Management to ensure operational execution aligns with customer commitments and commercial priorities.

Organization & Leadership:
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Carrier Sales and Operations organization capable of scaling with the business.
  • Establish clear roles, KPIs, performance expectations, leadership routines, and accountability systems across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, urgency, service excellence, continuous improvement, and commercial discipline.

Financial & Commercial Performance:
  • Drive operational and financial performance across carrier cost, gross margin, coverage, productivity, service, and carrier performance.
  • Partner with Finance and Commercial leadership to establish budgets, targets, performance expectations, and accountability mechanisms.
  • Design and manage the Carrier Sales incentive program along with CRO for 2027 and beyond, ensuring alignment with growth, profitability, service, and performance objectives.
  • Use data, market intelligence, and operating results to improve procurement strategy, margin performance, and executive decision-making.

Technology, Automation & Process Improvement:
  • Leverage technology, automation, and analytics to improve carrier sourcing, load coverage, shipment visibility, productivity, and operating decision-making.
  • Simplify processes, reduce manual effort, and increase speed, accuracy, and scalability of execution.

What We're Looking For:
  • 7–10+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, freight brokerage, carrier sales, or related operations.
  • Proven leadership experience building and scaling teams, ideally including managers or operational leaders.
  • Deep understanding of truckload transportation, carrier procurement, capacity management, brokerage economics, pricing, and operational execution.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and commercial acumen with the ability to translate operating data into business decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build carrier relationships, implement scalable processes, and lead technology-enabled operational improvement.
  • High ownership, urgency, accountability, and comfort operating in a business where strategy, structure, and processes continue to evolve.
